A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high achieving SENCO to join an Outstanding school. We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and innovative leader to further drive forward the learning and teaching of SEN students at this brilliant School. The post holder will be head of the SEN department and will have responsibility for day to day running of SEN. This position provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead alongside the Director of Inclusion the next stage of development of the school’s provision for students with a range of Special Educational needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • All key stage interventions and support
  • SEN teaching plus mainstream teaching
  • Working closely with the pastoral team
  • Assessments
  • Parental communications
  • Developing IEPs
  •  Developing Child centred provision outcomes maps (C2POMs)
  • LSA Deployment in liaison with the director of Inclusion and operations manager
  • Line management of  Deputy SENCO, HLTAs, SRT and external agents
  • Responding to academic and social and emotional needs
  • Maintaining the SEN register and the SEN monitoring register
  • Facilitating exam arrangements
  • Sharing information with staff ie key students
  •  Planning and leading Teacher Around Child TAC meetings
  • Lead the KS4 college alternative provision placements and support the Deputy SENCO on Leading KS2/3 transition planning alongside the pastoral team
