Job Description

A private non-denominational British school in Madrid offering a British education to boys and girls of all nationalities from the ages of 2-18 is seeking to appoint and Outstanding Science Teacher to join the school from September 2021

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science to six classes in Years 5 & 6 during 2021-2022 and from September 2022 you will also teach Key Stage 3 Science to Years 7 & 8.

We’re seeking a teacher who has experience and a history of excellent attainment. You are enthusiastic and have high expectations of all pupils and you would be joining a committed team of teachers with high standards who want to continue to develop the quality of learning and teaching. The children are bilingual, positive and eager to learn. The education offered follows the British National Curriculum.

The school supports its staff and provides opportunities for professional development.

Founded as a private school in September 1967, the primary school was inaugurated in 1987, and since 1990, the whole School has been situated in La Moraleja, a residential estate 13 km to the north of Madrid.

Academic levels are high and in June 2020 79% of students achieved A-A* at A Level, which meant three of our pupils gained places at Oxford and a further 25 at UCL, LSE, Imperial College and Edinburgh. Two students also turned down places at Oxford and Cambridge to study at Yale and Stanford respectively.

The Chemistry department were also delighted with pupils' examination results at IGCSE, achieving 100% A*-C.

These results are testament to the motivated and well behaved pupils, excellent teaching standards and the state of the art science laboratories which were  in September 2019.

You’re a native English speaker, with a relevant Science Teaching qualification and a specialism in Chemistry. Experience teaching IGCSE and A level Chemistry in an International is desirable but not essential.

In addition to an excellent salary, you will receive €1,500 euros settling-in allowance if relocating from abroad and join the schools pension plan.
