Job Description

Are you a tennis enthusiast looking to gain valuable experience in your career?

GLL are looking to recruit a Regional Tennis Manager on a 1 year fixed term contract for our London East region which covers Bromley, Greenwich, Hackney, Islington, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. You must be based within this area as travel across the region will be required.

Tennis is one of our key sports and an area of focus for us at GLL. We're now the largest operator of public tennis facilities in the UK and growing all the time. We now operate 11 indoor facilities and manage over 250 outdoor courts. As part of our charitable social enterprise status, we aim to make tennis accessible and affordable to all sections of the community that we work within.

We believe that Tennis should be available to everyone and as such, are looking for an inspirational Regional Tennis Manager for our East London Region to bring tennis to more people than ever before. Our East London Region has an abundance of potential for Tennis and we already have programmes flourishing within Islington, Greenwich, Crystal Palace, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Hackney, with the potential to develop many more programmes across communities in the region.

Regional Tennis Managers are a key position to GLL's Tennis strategy and created to help our 3500 player-strong coaching courses reach an even wider and more diverse audience in our communities. As a Regional Tennis Manager, you will have overall responsibility for driving sustainable community tennis programmes that link to our hub venues. Working with GLL will give you the opportunity to bring your passion for tennis to a mass audience like never before - in terms of both recreational and competitive tennis (and you might even discover the UKs next big tennis star!). With a community ethos and ambition to match ours, you will understand the positive impact that tennis can bring to people with regards to the social and health aspects of the sport and look beyond the traditional tennis audience. Although there is a sizeable business aspect to this position, it is still very hands-on and will need you to get on court and be an inspirational tennis coach in various locations.

If you want the chance to develop a career doing something you love, apply now.

Please note interviews will be held on 7th January 2019.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.

GLL is an equal opportunities employer.
