Do you want to teach in an “excellent school” (ISI Inspection May 2017). Are you an NQT or experienced teacher with a Hockey Specialism, seeking your next challenge this September? Do you live in Worcestershire or would be willing to relocate to Worcestershire? (school accommodation may be available) If the answer is yes to the above, then we’re keen to speak with you now.
A delightful independent school in a picturesque part of Worcestershire, that educates girls between 4-18 years of age is seeking an enthusiastic teacher that matches this description.
You’ll be joining a supportive PE department that aims to provide pupils with a challenging environment within an enjoyable and balanced programme. Specialist PE is delivered by PE staff to Years 3-6 in the Preparatory Department, as well as Gymnastics in the Pre-Prep. In Years 10 and 11, OCR GCSE PE is offered as an option subject and is compulsory for Sports Scholars. In the Sixth Form, the Diploma in Sport and the Advanced Subsidiary Diploma in Sport are offered as an option for Years 12 and 13, as well as the Community Sports Leadership Award.
The ability to teach across the age range is desirable, including Sixth Form. The department currently numbers seven staff, including the Head of Department and specialist graduate coaches in Hockey and Lacrosse. Your Hockey specialism will be proven and clear for all to see. As a major winter sport the school possesses many elite players and you will be tasked to deliver an exceptional hockey programme across the school.
Facilities are outstanding. A purpose built £4.4million Sports Centre includes the PE office and dedicated classroom. It is also supported by 6 Badminton Courts, Volleyball and Basketball Court, 2 Practice Netball Courts, Indoor Hockey, 1 International size Netball Court, Trampolining Belt, Climbing Wall, Fully equipped Fitness Suite and Dance Studio. Other facilities include a full sized floodlit AstroTurf pitch, extensive playing fields and an indoor heated swimming pool.
The girls can access a wide range of fixtures and tournaments during the evenings and at weekends. The School is a member of ISA, GSA and various specialist local, regional and national networks for competitive sport. They also regularly host community days for Multi Skills and Pop Lacrosse, for example, where visiting schools enjoy participating in varied and challenging activities.
