 Background

The Panathlon Foundation Charity (www.panathlon.com) delivers sporting, training and life experiences for Disabled young people including Severe Learning/Physically Disabled and Deaf young people across England who are in education in Special Schools, mainstream SEN units and also as individual disabled young people in mainstream schools.

The Charity has grown with partner support and is now in 37 Counties across England, with demand from Counties and Boroughs, growing both in terms of requesting more programmes within and also new County and Borough involvement.  In the 2017-18 Academic year we the Primary Panathlon programme attracted over 6,500 nationally

Role                                                                                                                     

The Events Manager reporting to the COO and other Events Manager (where lead is applicable) will undertake a wide range of functions within the charity in line with the Charities objectives in London and Essex.

In this role your responsibility will be to help co-ordinate, administer and support initiatives within the programme being delivered for the Panathlon Foundation with particular focus on the delivery of the Primary aged Panathlon across London for disabled young people.

 

The Primary Panathlon is a skill based competition which helps develop physical literacy in Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2

To meet the requirements of this role you will need to demonstrate a range of skills, knowledge and experience. These include:

·         Excellent and persuasive communications skills, both verbal and written.

·         Events experience

·         Understanding of sport, Leadership, coaching, Key stage 1 and 2 in primary education

·         National Governing body of sport qualification ( preferable)

·         Ability to work with Teaching profession

·         Social Media skills

·         Working knowledge of IT / Office packages and ideally research methods and databases

There is potential for the role to grow in to a full-time position and develop more event-based initiatives
