From teaching around the world... to recruiting around the world!

After over ten years of teaching in some fantastic schools in the UK and overseas, I am now using my knowledge and experience to recruit for schools and colleges worldwide.
For those that don’t know, the job of a recruiter is essentially finding a candidate their dream job and matching them to a client, who are looking for their ideal employee.
My role as a senior recruiter at Futureactive allows me to utilise all my previous education experience into a role where I can really make a positive impact on the experiences of teachers and schools alike.
From my time in education, I have lots of experiences that have led me to my current role, that have both informed and shaped me into the recruiter I would have wanted to work with.
These include deciding when to leave a job and start a fresh challenge, dealing with recruitment consultants (good and bad) preparing for interviews and observed lessons and dealing with the logistics of moving to a new country to teach.
During my teaching career I have been fortunate to work in the UK, Spain and China. Experiences I will never forget! I have taught some fantastic children, worked with many incredible and inspirational colleagues and have lived in beautiful locations! I have first-hand experience of the thrill of moving overseas, but also know how stressful the move can be.
As part of my role, I love meeting new people (online and in person) and sharing my experiences to support candidates to find and prepare them for their new dream job.
Looking for jobs and looking for employees can be tough. I know, I have worked on both sides, but it doesn’t need to be! The process can be challenging but fear not… we at Futureactive are here to help!
